Men without hats es una agrupación de Montreal, Canadá formada en la última cuarta parte de los 70's. Mezclan el Dance Pop y el Synth pop (Tecno derivado del New wave) caracterizados por sus vocales expresivos y melódicos, amalgama de sintetizadores e instrumentos electrónicos. Desde sus iniciois hubiron ciertas indecisiones departe de los integrantes en seguir tocando. Los principales integrantes son lso hermanos Ivan y Stefan Doroschuk, de ello siguen Jeremie arrobas, Tracy Howe, Martyn romana, Mike Gabriel, Heidi García, Jean-Marc Pisapia , Lenny Pinkas, Allan McCarthy -fallecido en 1995-, Paul Miscala, además del tercer hermano: Colin Doroschuk.
Han editado varios discos, donde destacan: 'Folk of the 80's' (1980) un EP de 4 singles donde destaca 'Antarctica'; 'Rhythm of youth' (1982) donde sobresale el tema que los lanzó al estrellado 'The safety dance'; 'Folk of the 80's (Part III)', 1984; 'Freeways' (1985); 'Pop goes the world' (1987) el tema homónimo es su segundo mayor éxito; 'The Adventures of Women & Men Without Hate in the 21st Century' (1989); 'Sideways' (1991) en ese año la banda se disuelve y ambos hermanos hacen su carrera por separado; y 'No Hats Beyond This Point' para el 2003 cuando Ivan y Stefan se reunen sin tener el éxito esperado.
'Pop goes the world', es para mí el mejor tema de la banda, con una melodia perfecta que parece ser lo que más importa, la letra queda en un segundo plano, no por ser mala sino porque no se le escucha de forma tan percibible. Es una demás presentación o alución de este tipo de música que ya había invadido al mundo de la música, pues es el ritmo que tiene más mutaciones con otros. El vídeo aparece Ivan danzando en un piso donde está estampado el mapa mundi, y va presentando a personajes que representan lo que quiere decir la cancion, donde la bizarria característica de esa época es lo que abunda como las burbujas que caen.
